This association is committed to engaging members in energizing and informative programs as well as facilitating networking and business opportunities for members through interactive forums and a dynamic line-up of local and international events.
Membership Fees
REGISTRATION FEE: UGX 200,000
ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP FEE: UGX 100,000
ORDINARY MEMBERSHIP
All specialists with either formal or informal training in Minimal Access Surgery are eligible to be ordinary members of the Association.
HONORARY MEMBERSHIP
For persons who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of Minimal Access Surgery in Uganda.
LIFE MEMBERSHIP
Only considered after a period of 5 consecutive years as an ALASU Member and reserved for a limited number of people also entitled to special rates.
Rights & Duties of Members
- All members shall be registered.
- All members shall enjoy the facilities and opportunities of ALASU in accordance with the rules and regulations governing the use of such facilities and opportunities.
- All ordinary members shall pay registration/membership fees and annual subscription as shall be fixed and reviewed from time to time by the Board and approved by the General Assembly.
- All ordinary members are entitled to vote and be voted into the offices of ALASU.
- Elected officials shall serve for a maximum of two terms, each of three years.
- All members shall attend meetings regularly and shall actively participate in the activities of ALASU at various levels and capacities as duty may call upon.
- Any member of ALASU may come up with a project under its auspices and which is in line with the objectives of the company. Such a project shall be sanctioned by the board before its commencement and shall follow the regulations and guidelines of the company.
